As we have been saying over the last few weeks, the design of the entire iPhone 16 range will change a little, with the Pro models growing a little in terms of screen size, while the base models should receive new buttons, and of course , a slightly different camera module to be able to differentiate the new models from the old ones.
Having said all this, it seems that Apple was forced to change the internal design of these devices a little, to be able to give all the touches it wanted on the outside. This is exactly why Apple is planning to slightly change where the MagSafe magnetic ring is placed. It might bring some extra improvements!
MagSafe will change on iPhone but compatibility will continue
Therefore, new images relating to the entire iPhone 16 range prove the many rumors and leaks that have appeared on the Internet. The Base models (iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus) will continue to have the same dimensions, however, the camera modules will increase slightly.
However, on the other hand, the Pro models (iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max) will increase in size to 6.3” and 6.9”, respectively, which will also require some changes to Apple’s wireless charging system.
All these changes, although slight, should also be used by Apple to improve support for the Qi 2 standard, which has now been made official, despite still being very little supported in the mobile world.
In addition to Qi 2, Apple could take advantage of the opportunity to improve the strength of the magnets, or perhaps increase the charging power in the new models. However, regarding this, we are still not sure of anything.
