The first independent tests on the new Corsair One i500, a still compact luxury wooden PC that is optionally equipped with a lightning-fast Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090 or Geforce RTX 4080 Super, definitely reveal conceptual deficits. The editorial teams at ComputerBase and HardwareLuxx tested different configurations and have already put the wooden PC, which costs 4,399.99 euros and 5,599.99 euros respectively, through its paces. Measured in terms of computing power, there is hardly anything left to be desired, but the concept is.
Not quite as compact a compact PC anymore
ComputerBase in particular points out that the Corsair One i500 now deviates significantly from the actual concept of the series and due to the increasingly powerful hardware, which in this case is based on a Core i9-14900K “capped” at 200 watts and a Geforce RTX 4090, continues to grow in size. The Corsair One i500 now approaches the standard PC with its dimensions of 391 mm × 185 mm × 300 mm.
Simply too loud for the luxury class
As ComputerBase also points out, the Corsair One i500, which otherwise delivers the performance expected from the built-in hardware, is simply too loud for the luxury class in which this system is located.
“With the switch to the larger case there was also the hope that the more powerful hardware would not be accompanied by a higher noise level despite the increased consumption. But that is not the case: the new Corsair One i500 is 10 dB louder than its predecessor when playing games -Continuous load. A disappointment.”

This is primarily due to the new cooling concept. “As powerful, as visually appealing, as high-quality as the new Corsair One i500 is, the bottom line is that at a price of 5,599.99 euros, the system should have performed better in terms of volume,” it concludes.
The editorial team at HardwareLuxx, on the other hand, is overall very satisfied with the configuration with Core i9-14900K and Geforce RTX 4080 Super and finally awards it one due to the “brilliant work and gaming performance”, the simple and timeless design as well as the excellent workmanship and “pleasant operating noises”. Recommendation with in-house HardwareLuxx Award.
However, this opinion is not shared unchallenged by all testers. The well-known German extreme overclocker Roman “der8auer” Hartung sees “major cooling problems with the small Corsair One i500”.
